Northeast New Mexico Trip Planner
Welcome to Northeast New Mexico!
Northeast New Mexico has much to offer travelers, from outdoor activities to restaurants and accommodations. Skiing, snowboarding and ice fishing can be enjoyed during the winter months, a contrast to the abundant hiking, biking and more that is available in the summer. The town of Raton in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains features a number of historic attractions, such as the Santa Fe National Historic Trail, a trade route that was used in the 1800s. The local Shuler Theater is a historical attraction in Raton, and today features live performances by both residents and visiting troupes. Northeast New Mexico boasts a Las Vegas as well, and though it doesn't enjoy the same reputation as the Nevada gaming haven, it does offer a wealth of outdoor recreation with two National Forests located minutes away. Tucumcari offers a number of interesting attractions, including Mesalands Community College's Dinosaur Museum and Tucumcari Mountain Cheese Factory tours.
